Lampshades are a fairly new category for us at Decopots. We are honing the line and have settled on three types of shades.

Ironwood bark shades are made with the fibrous outer bark of the ironwood trees from Borneo. We make a frame and stretch the bark over it making a very attractive primitive shade. Once they arrive at our US warehouse they are sprayed with fire retardant as a precaution, since they are a natural fiber.

Rawhide shades are finally perfected and are assembled the same way as the ironwood shades. We build a frame, and hand stitch the rawhide on the seams. These also are very attractive rustic looking shades.

Last but first in our heart is our new line of Batik lampshades. We have fabric hand made in Indonesia and shipped in. It then goes to a factory to be mounted on styrene and turned into gorgeous rustic shades. Look for new designs during the winter season of 2006.
